Prerequisites
  • A Patreon account with at least one pledge to The Eric Experiment.
  • A computer capable of running Napster and, optionally, Napigator.
Install Napster
Step 1: Download Napster

Go to our download page to download your preferred Napster version. Click on the download link and complete the download process.

Step 2: Install Napster

Run the installer and follow the on-screen instructions to install Napster on your computer.

Connection Method 1: Using UCAnet.net

UCAnet.net is an initiative to create a separate network/web ecosystem for retro computers, using an alternative-root DNS server. This option is great because it allows Napster to connect directly to the Ubernappy's service without the need for any other tools. Here's how to do it:

Step 1: Configure Your Computer to Use UCAnet.net

Adjust your computer's network settings to use UCAnet.net as the DNS server, which you can get from their website.

Step 2: Run Napster

After UCAnet is setup, you should be able to just login into Ubernappy via the Napster Client.

Method 2: Using Napigator

Napigator allows you to add a service URL to launch Napster without changing your DNS settings. Here's how to set it up:

Step 1: Download and Install Napigator

Download Napigator from our download page and follow the installation prompts.

Step 2: Configure Napigator

Open Napigator and navigate to the settings or options menu to add a new server or service URL. Input the service URL provided by The Eric Experiment and save your configuration.

Step 3: Launch Napster through Napigator

Select the service from Napigator's list and click "Launch" to open the Napster client.
